Have you ever gone through something traumatic or monumental in your life and not known the words to say or how you felt during that situation? Dance Therapy is a way to move, process, explore and think about the feelings and words in a safe place without having to speak to someone.
Dance Therapy is a guided improv of remembering past trauma or instances we may have blocked out that allows us to use the gentleness of dance to move through the hurt and pain without having to speak about what actually happened. When you don't have the words to say, how you feel, or have blocked out what actually did happen, dance therapy can help start the process of moving the trauma up and out of your body, and eventually bring you to a point of closure.
My program will walk you through different ways of moving your body. The process will involve movements that correlate to different feelings or thoughts from your past. I will combine dance movements to help you dig deep within yourself to carefully make you aware of your past experiences and finding the healing you need to be free.
This is a one on one session that will explore the movement that is within yourself and bring out the past in a freeing way without having to talk about your past.
This is a group session with no more than 10 people in one given class time. You will explore movement in your own body, but will also explore the movement in the space around others.
